Homepage updates

I'm pleased to announce that - after apparently 3 years - I've updated my website. It remains an old, out-of-date format, but I can't bear to let it go.

The site's primary function is to serve as an index of 1950s Atlas titles, divided by genre into western, war, crime, romance and "horror" (a catch-all for horror, science fiction and fantasy). Further, it was first designed (circa 2000) to identify the original sources of western & horror comics Marvel reprinted in the 60s & 70s. Back when the page was new, even the Grand Comics Database had a lot of gaps where reprints were concerned.

This update reflects three years worth of culling from various sources to make the pages as near-complete as they'll get. Of all the horror & western reprints, I believe I've written up plot summaries for about 95% of them. I might never get around to the last 5%, but we'll see. There have also been many errors over the years, but I've done my best to double-check my work. These days there are many other fine sources for information (like Atlas Tales) out there, so what was once fertile ground is now well-tended; the site exists mainly for my own interest and probably not for many others. Still, the plot summaries might be of interest to some.

If you get some value out the site - thank you very much; I'm always open to criticism and compliments.

Website: still functioning

As of yesterday, my webpage is back online after being down for more than half a year. I hope to have new content added soon - I've prepared more than 200 new entries for the story index since the last update.

Appending the Appendix

This past weekend I made my first update on the Marvel Appendix website in many years; it includes a profile for Jim Hudson, patrolman, who starred in his own Marvel comic back in the Atlas days, lasting all of...one issue.

The Appendix hasn't been as up-to-date as it once was, primarily because of me and how my Marvel Comics workload ate up my personal time. I hope to get back to regular editing duties before too long and hopefully bring some of the characters' histories up to the present.

Website updated

My seldomly-updated website has received one of its seldom updates; the sections where I've been cataloguing Marvel's Atlas output have been expanded by yet another page, now including Crime comics as a category. When I began this site on Geocities about a decade ago, there wasn't much on Atlas on the web; since the arrival of Atlas Tales I feel like my site is mostly redundant, but I've had some feedback on my issue synopses, so...the site carries on.

Western/War/Horror site updated

I've just updated my website's guide to Marvel's Horror, War, Jungle, Romance and Western stories. I'm acquiring 1950s Atlas Comics faster than I can index them, so this update has many, many dozens of new entries peppered throughout, with various old errors fixed.

Website updated!

The Atlas comics section of my website has been updated, thanks to a lot of recent additions in Atlas titles for my collection. As I accumulate more titles, the resource becomes a lot more precise, as I've been able to correct old blunders on where reprinted stories first appeared by actually obtaining the original comics themselves.

The website not even death could stop!

I recently became aware of the existence of Reocities, a Geocities knock-off that archived Geocities' contents. Among those pages they've archived is Sersi's Loft, the first webpage I ever helped create. I have nothing to do with its current housing, but it's nice to know the information is still out there on the interwebs.

My website is back!

With Geocities about to tap the mat, it was surely high time I found a a new home for the rambling lists I kept at my old website. Thanks to Janna & Juniper I have a new site at the Hoskin Centre. At this point it's just the old site.

Wait, did I say "just the old site?" Actually, it's the old site plus several months worth of updates that I kept off Geocities. The Archive section now lists several hundred more synopses of various defunct Marvel genre books. I even opened a new page for romance comics! It's still home to the Mark's Remarks archive too; I hope I'll find time to transcribe more of them over the next year.
